As a child, I loved doing gymnastics and dance as well as sports and outdoor activities.  I loved the way I felt when I was moving my body.  Later in life, I began to search for a new way to shape myself.  A friend invited me to her yoga class.  I immediately felt at home and in tune with something that must have been inside of me all along.

I have been in awe of the way yoga has gently guided me from the beginning,  I am open to the lessons that flow from my mat to my life and know that the learning never ends.  I received my training under the leadership of Erin Menut at The Avenues Yoga in Salt Lake City.  I am grateful to her and many teachers on my path, for their inspiration and encouragement.

I’ve been practicing various styles of yoga for over 10 years and am inspired daily by the transformative power of breath, presence and movement. I received my 500 RYT from InBody Academy (D’Ana Baptiste) in 2010 and Healing Heart Yoga Therapy Training in 2012. Yoga makes me happy and my intention is to offer a safe place for personal growth in mind, body and spirit. I am deeply grateful for my many teachers and am honored to share the love, joy and happiness that a yoga practice can bring. I like to have fun. You’ll find my classes to be a light-hearted blend of self-exploration and empowering postures with a strong focus on breath to cultivate space in the body and in the heart.

My yoga practice started one fine day in my junior year of high school. I had found Raquel Welch’s Total Beauty and Fitness book in my mom’s bookshelf, immediately put on a pink leotard, and got to work with my Hatha Yoga routine. I hardly knew what an awesome thing I had stumbled upon! Since then yoga has become my traveling happy place. Wherever and with whomever I can practice is happy to me. I’m so grateful for it’s influence in my life and I’m so grateful to be able to share what I love!

Erin & Tigan

Erin Steel, – LMT, Artist, Energy & Crystal Healer, Animal Enthusiast –

Erin was born and raised in Utah in an adventurous and loving family of five. Her inspiration and love of art started as a child, and was always reflective of the world around her. Erin’s parents would often find her in the back yard, petting the grass and talking to rocks – finding each one special, and worthy of coming inside the house.

Throughout her high school experience, Erin dabbled in painting and music, and made the decision to become an Licensed Massage Therapist – earning her education at Renaissance College of Massage, and through Healing Mountain.  Her desire to learn continued through her work with Micaela, a Medium and Energy Healer. Together they helped anyone in need of balance and healing in their life, which fueled Erin with the desire and passion to help others.

In December of 2015 Erin began her journey at Free Spirit, where every potential was found and utilized empowering her to further succeed and grow. In early March, Micaela had passed, and as a tribute Erin painted a lighthouse. Following that piece, she was given the opportunity to open a studio within Gravitea and since then she has cultivated wonderful relationships with her clients and peers, and is thriving within her painting efforts. During the summer, Erin also adopted a kitty! Her kitty, Titan has become one of her favorite distractions and greatest hiking buddies. Together they can be found napping, bird watching, and often comes to visit in the garden of Free Spirit Spa.
